Mühlpöllnitz

geography

Mühlpöllnitz lies between Oberpöllnitz and Mittelpöllnitz , embedded between the federal highway 281 and the Saalfeld – Gera railway line .

history

In 1786 the hamlet of Mühlpöllnitz was first mentioned in a document. Right next to the headwaters of the Pöllnitzbach near Oberpöllnitz, the villages of Oberpöllnitz, Mittelpöllnitz and Niederpöllnitz are lined up. There are still large mill ponds in Mühlpöllnitz. 1670 Martin Heselbarth was mentioned in Mühlpöllnitz. In 1681 Georg doctor worked in the mill. In 1719 the manor and the mill came into the possession of Frau von Beust, née Pöllnitz, who then sold it again. Now the ponds of the mill and the rural idyll of the old Mühlenpöllnitzer mill with the garden and the millstone erected in memory of yesteryear still bear witness .
