The M'Kean Point is a headland on the south coast of Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is 5.5 km east of Brunow Bay between the mouths of the Srebarna and Magura glaciers in the Bransfield Strait .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1961 after Captain John M'Kean (1781 to 1851), skipper of the British Robben scavenger Princess Charlotte of Calcutta , in the course of his visit to the South Shetland Islands from 1821 to 1822 in the neighboring Johnsons Dock wrecked .
