The kuk MI Parseval was an airship with two ballonets . Its first voyage took place on November 26, 1909 in Fischamend . It was the first airship of the kuk airship department . The construction was based on plans by the Prussian major August von Parseval . MI Parseval was stationed in the Körtinghalle of the Fischamend Military Aëronautical Institute . The airship, which was used for training drives and research, offered space for five crew members.

In addition to the commander Oberleutnant von Berlepsch, the following personalities were on board during the first voyage: Chief Engineer Kiefer, Deutsche Luftschifffahrtgesellschaft , Director Ferdinand Porsche , Austro-Daimler Motorengesellschaft and Captain Franz Hinterstoisser , Commander of the Fischamend Military Aëronautical Institute. This led from Fischamend in the direction of the imperial capital and royal seat of Vienna and back to Fischamend via Schönbrunn . The MI Parseval circled St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna . It was reported that Emperor Franz Joseph watched the movements of the airship through binoculars from a window of his work cabinet in the imperial wing of the Hofburg . He was said to have a distant relationship with new branches of arms such as airships and flying machines. The trip of the Parseval via Vienna contributed all the more to the popularization of airship travel in Austria.

In Fischamend today the Parsevalstraße and the sign reminds of the MI Parseval. It runs in the area of ​​the former military aeronautical institute not far from the airship hangar and airfield.
