The Lion's Intercity is an intercity bus from the German company MAN Truck & Bus . It is also marketed for use in shuttle traffic , for example for airport transfers , and as a school bus .
history
The vehicle has been produced in the Turkish city of Ankara since 2015 and has since been offered as a standard intercity bus in Europe. In 2016, the model was voted intercity bus of the year in Russia. In 2018, MAN received all the lots for the delivery of up to 1000 buses over a delivery period of four years in a tender from Deutsche Bahn ; MAN Lion's Intercity is used exclusively for all intercity buses operated by DB Regio Bus .
Furnishing
Depending on the intended use, the vehicle is offered as Lion's Intercity in a length of 12.2 m (up to 55 seats) and as Intercity C in lengths of 13 and 13.2 m (up to 59 or 63 seats).
In contrast to the MAN Lion's City low-floor bus , the Lion's Intercity is designed as a high-floor bus , with the continuous floor rising slightly towards the rear; the last rows of seats above the engine compartment can be reached via steps. The modular system makes it possible to either completely seat the bus or to remove an interchangeable platform to provide space for two wheelchairs, strollers or standing passengers. The vehicle thus meets the requirements of the Passenger Transport Act , which stipulates at least two parking spaces for wheelchair users in long-distance bus traffic . The Lion's Intercity has two pneumatic, outward-pivoting doors, with the rear door being offered in two widths and with a lift for wheelchairs.
technology
The in-house 6-cylinder in - line engine D0836 LOH is installed in all models . This upright diesel engine with common rail has a displacement of 6900 cm³; the rated output is 213 kilowatts (290 hp ). The bus is 2.5 m wide and 3.4 m high, including the air conditioning mounted on the roof.
