MIBA cooperative , based in Aesch, is a cooperative with around 1,400 members from five cantons in north-western Switzerland (AG, BL, BS, BE, JU, SO). The members are all dairy farmers who produce milk for the mooh cooperative or a MIBA-accredited cheese dairy or dairy. MIBA wants to support its members in milk production and generate added value from the milk produced in their area. It is active in representing the interests of its members and offers services for its members as well as for third parties. MIBA is a member of the Swiss milk producers .

Cooperative mooh

In April 2016 it was decided to merge the milk trading activities with Nordostmilch AG. While Nordostmilch AG will be liquidated after the merger, the MIBA cooperative will continue to exist after the milk trade has been outsourced to the " mooh cooperative ". All milk producers remain members of MIBA, even if they deliver their milk to "mooh" in the future. This made Mooh the new market leader in the Swiss milk trade. Mooh has announced that trading and marketing of organic raw milk will be merged with Biomilchpool GmbH from April 2018. The dairy trading business will also be taken over by Prolait and its industrial milk marketing from January 1, 2018. In 2017, Mooh exported almost 5 million liters of milk, mainly in the form of cheese, to China. The free trade agreement has cut the tariffs on cheese by almost half. In April 2019, Martin Hübscher was elected as the new President of Mooh. Despite some critical voices, Fenaco man Urs Feuz was elected to the new board on the same day .

Fromagerie des Franches-Montagnes

From spring 2017 , a new cheese dairy including a show dairy was built at Le Noirmont with the support of the federal government and the canton of Jura . In April 2019 it ( Fromagerie des Franches-Montagnes ) was officially opened. The main types of cheese Tête de Moine and Gruyere are made with the milk of 18 farmers, all from a radius of just four kilometers .
