The MIWE Michael Wenz GmbH , based in Arnstein is a manufacturer in the field to the conditioning process stages of baking, automation technology and plant engineering. The company's innovations include the introduction of rack ovens (1967) in Central Europe and the development of "sight and scented baking " (1971), which led to the introduction of bakery shops in stores.
The company was founded by Michael Wenz in 1919 and taken over by his son Edgar Michael Wenz in 1951. The doctor of law turned the originally handicraft-oriented company into a modern, medium-sized company with two production sites in Arnstein and Meiningen. Sabine Michaela Wenz has been running the company since 2002 with more than 700 employees in the third generation. The company has seven subsidiaries in the USA, Canada, Russia, Austria, France, Italy, Switzerland and Singapore as well as over 40 agencies.
