MMW - Progress in Medicine is a medical journal that has been published since 1999 as a merger of the periodical Münchener Medizinische Wochenschrift (founded in Munich in 1853, published by JF Lehmanns Verlag ) and the journal Progress of Medicine (founded in 1882 by Robert Koch, among others ).

It is currently published by Urban & Vogel (Urban & Vogel GmbH is a 100% subsidiary of Springer Medizin Verlag ) with 22 regular issues and 6 special issues per year with a circulation of 58,000 copies . It was the first medical journal in Germany to offer its readers the certification of advanced medical training ( CME ). With the MMW, doctors can collect up to 50 CME points per year .
