Lists on the subject

The MP-446 Viking is a semi - automatic self - loading pistol from Russia .

The pistol is a civil version of Ischmasch based on the Jarygin PJa pistol, which the Russian armed forces introduced as a new service weapon in 2003. The main difference between the military PJa and the civilian MP-446 is the material of the grip.

technology

The double-action pistol is made of durable materials; the grip is made of high-strength fiberglass-reinforced plastic , which makes the weapon lighter, the breech and the mechanism are made of steel.

A mechanical charge level indicator is incorporated on the breech: This means that you can always see whether a cartridge is in the chamber. The trigger safety is equipped with a safety lever on both sides, and the magazine release button can also be adjusted to the needs of left-handers.

Originally the MP-446, like its military variant, was designed with a magazine capacity of 18 cartridges (only 17-round magazines were used until 2004). In the civil version, the magazine of the pistol can only be loaded with 10 instead of 18 cartridges of 9 × 19 mm caliber .
