The MWS 45 is a special tractor for slopes.
history
Apart from the Zetor 7245 Horal tractor, which could be used on slopes up to 36%, there was no machine available in the GDR for working on slopes. For this purpose, a tractor was designed by the FZM Schlieben with the participation of the combine progress agricultural machinery , which could be used on slopes up to 45%. From 1987 about 150 to 200 copies were built by MWS, initially by the Kreisbetrieb für Landtechnik (KfL) Sonneberg BT Schmiedefeld , and later by KfL Stadtlengsfeld BT Geisa .
construction
The MWS 45 was based on parts of the Multicar 25 and was powered by a water-cooled four-cylinder four-stroke diesel engine with 26.5 kilowatts at a speed of 2300 rpm from VEB Motorenwerk Cunewalde . The all-wheel drive vehicle has six synchronized forward and two reverse gears in two groups. The MWS 45 has front and rear three-point hydraulics with a motorized PTO shaft with 1000 rpm (front PTO shaft) or 540 rpm (rear PTO shaft).
