Mašḫuiluwa ( Luwian : "little mouse") was a king of Mira between about 1315 and 1305 BC. He was the son of King Tarḫuntaradu of Arzawa .

Mašḫuiluwa ascended the throne of Arzawa after the death of his father, but was soon driven out by his brother Uḫḫaziti . He fled to the Hittite capital Hattusa , where he of King Suppiluliuma I was taken. He married him to his daughter Muwatti .

Mašḫuiluwa supported the Hittite king Muršili II in the fight against his homeland Arzawa and passed this information on. After the Hittites in 1316 BC BC Apaša ( Ephesus ), the capital of Arzawa, had taken without a fight, the land of Arzawa was divided into three parts. Mašḫuiluwa was installed as a vassal king in Mira, which was on the lower Maiandros . The east of it lying land Ḫapalla received Targašnalli and the Seha -Flussland Manapa-Tarḫunta . Uḫḫaziti, the defeated brother of Mašḫuiluwa, fled to the islands that belonged to the king of Aḫḫiyawa .

Since the marriage between Muwatti and Mašḫuiluwa remained childless, the couple received from Muršili permission to adopt Kupantakurunta , a nephew of Mašḫuiluwa. Around 1305 BC Mašḫuiluwa rose against his brother-in-law Muršili and was accused of high treason. When he fled to Maša , Mursili pursued him with his army and he was extradited. As the new vassal king over Mira, his nephew and adopted son Kupantakurunta was installed.
