As a base were bogies , frame and transmission of the DB Class V 100 10 used. Superstructures, motors and other units and systems are new parts based on MaK G 1205 BB .

A total of eight locomotives have been converted in this way in the Moers plant of Vossloh Rail Vehicle Technology (now Vossloh Lokomotives) since 1997 . They are used by various German private and port railways.

The series number 98 80 1209 was assigned to these vehicles in the German Vehicle Settings Register.
