Maati Jorio ( Arabic معطي جوريو; * 1934 in Rabat ) is a Moroccan diplomat in retirement .

He is a Doctor of Political Science from the University of Toulouse .

Career

From 1957 to 1964 he headed the Administration Department of the Ministry of Public Works and Communications. From 1964 to 1971 he was Secretary General of the Ministry of the Interior. From August 4, 1971 to November 2, 1972, he was Minister of Agriculture in the government cabinet of Mohammed Karim Lamrani . From 1973 to 1977 he was ambassador to Bucharest . From 1977 to 1978 he was ambassador to Moscow . From 1978 to 1981 he was ambassador to Madrid . From 1981 to 1982 he was ambassador to Tripoli . From 1982 to 1984 he was ambassador to Ottawa . From 1984 to 1986 he was ambassador to Washington, DC

Maati Jorio is married to Aicha Zebdi, the couple have three children: Leila, Asma and Hassan.
