MacDavid

MacDavid ( Hebrew : מקדייויד) was an Israeli fast food chain .

Mac David Branch, Haifa

Since McDonald’s hesitated for a long time to become active in the market there due to Arab calls to boycott companies that did business with or in Israel, the first MacDavid restaurant opened in 1978 in Tel -Aviv , making it the second Israeli fast-food restaurant chain after Burgeranch (founded in 1972). Later there were such restaurants in other Israeli cities. The best-selling product was hamburgers , as with the great model . After the first three branches were open, the individual restaurants were given names after American squares and locations such as Manhattan or Beverly Hills . The kitchen was certified as kosher . Around 2003, MacDavid largely ceased operations after McDonald's opened 80 restaurants in the Israeli market since 1993.

A single restaurant from the original chain still existed in Haifa in 2018.
