The MacKay Bay is a 1.5 km wide bay on the north coast of South Georgia in the South Atlantic . It is located southwest of Macdonald Cove .
It was named by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee in 2009. It is named after Donald MacKay, log bookkeeper on the corvette Aspasia , with which the German-born merchant Edmund Fanning transported 57,000 seal skins from South Georgia between 1800 and 1801.
