MAT Macedonian Airlines ( Македонски Авио Транспорт , Makedonski Avio Transport ) was the national airline of North Macedonia , based in Skopje .

history

MAT Macedonian Airlines was founded on January 17, 1994 and began flight operations in June 1994 with a flight to Zurich .

In December 2008, MAT Macedonian Airlines had its permits for connections to Germany and Italy withdrawn because Eurocontrol had not paid fees. Vienna and Zurich continued to be served.

Macedonian Airlines ceased operations on May 20, 2009.

Destinations

MAT Macedonian Airlines only served European destinations. Direct destinations were Berlin , Düsseldorf , Istanbul , Hamburg , Vienna , Zurich , Rome and Amsterdam . From Ohrid there were connections to Düsseldorf, Vienna and Zurich.
