The Macey Islands are two small islands off the Mawson coast of the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . In the Robinson group , they are 3 km south of the Auster Islands .
Scientists from the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions (ANARE) built a refuge on one of the two islands in 1971. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named them after Louis Edward "Lem" Macey (1911-1986), who was involved in an ANARE campaign in the area in 1957.
