Power & Honor

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Macht & Ehre is a German right-wing rock band, which became known in the right-wing extremist scene in particular for its National Socialist and seditious texts .

Band history

Macht & Ehre was founded in 1991 in the Plötzensee correctional facility in Berlin by singer Stephan Jones. Jones was previously active in the right-wing extremist skinhead scene and brought out the openly neo-Nazi fanzine Power and Honor . He chose the same name for the band, only the "and" was replaced by the ampersand . The remaining members changed often, a uniform cast has not yet been found.

After three demos , their debut album NSDAP was released in 1996 on the right-wing Danish label NS-Records, which worked closely with Blood & Honor Denmark. A swastika , two SS runes and Heinrich Himmler are shown on the cover . In the same year a split CD with the Australian neo-Nazi band Kommando was released under the title Nigger Out .

In 1997 the second album Herrenrasse was released . Macht & Ehre was put on hold in 1998 and merged with the band Schwarzer Orden . This is considered more moderate in the scene. All sound carriers were reissued over and over again by various record companies.

The album Schwarzer Orden was released in 2003, and since then both bands have existed side by side. In 2004, after a long period of time, some split albums were published again: Hatred stoking noise (with Division Germania) and Tribute to Freikorps (with Division Germania and Sleipnir ). Only one year later in 2005, the band released the fourth album Mit uns ist der Sieg , which musically continued the style of hate-stirring noise . In 2007 the split album Hate Stoking Noise II was released (with Die Barbaren and Aryan Brotherhood ). The songs on Hassschürender Lärm II are much harder and faster than the songs published so far. In 2009 the band released their fifth and final album: Europa Erwache! . The style of the split album was also continued on this album, because the songs are also hard and fast, as they were on Hate Stirring Lärm II . In 2013 a best of CD was released. This CD contains all of the band's non-indexed pieces of music as well as some unpublished recordings from 2009. In 2015, the last split CD to date was released, Hass Stürender Lärm III with the band Sturmkommando .

reception

The band's first two albums, as well as the demo tapes, openly contain National Socialist, anti-Semitic and inhumane passages. Both albums were confiscated in Germany and are subject to a ban. The remaining albums and the demos up to 2004 are indexed . In various publications of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution and the Federal Agency for Civic Education , passages such as “Jew, off to the oven ...” and “Grilled meat” are used as text documents that are intended to warn against right-wing extremist music. After the re-establishment, this radicalism disappeared from the lyrics, but the band is still to be counted on the extreme right.
