Maciej Żukowski (born November 22, 1959 in Poznan ) is a Polish economist and has been the rector of the Poznan University of Economics since 2016 . His academic focus is on social policy and, above all, European integration .

Life

Maciej Żukowski attended the Adam Mickiewicz Grammar School in Poznan from 1974 to 1978 with a focus on mathematics and physics. He then studied economics and foreign trade at the Business Academy ( AE ). He wrote his master's thesis on Foreign Trade Policy and its Growth in the New Asian Industrial States in 1983 and was awarded summa cum laude . His doctorate took place in 1991, also at the Poznan Business Academy. From 1994 to 1996 he was a fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation at the Center for Social Policy at the University of Bremen . After his return , Żukowski completed his habilitation in 1998. He has been a professor since 2001 and was appointed full professor in 2007. From 2004 to 2005 he was a member of the Social Council of the Polish Prime Minister. From 2008 to 2016 Maciej Żukowski was Vice Rector for International Cooperation.
