The Mackenzie Glacier is a 6 km long glacier on the Brabant Island in the Palmer Archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It flows from Mount Parry in an easterly direction and flows after the confluence with the Malpighi Glacier via Kayak Bay into the Pampa Passage .
The first rough mapping goes back to the Belgica expedition (1897–1899) of the Belgian polar explorer Adrien de Gerlache de Gomery . Aerial photos by Hunting Aerosurveys Ltd. from 1956 to 1957 were used for mapping in 1959. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1960 after the British physician James Mackenzie (1853-1925), a pioneer in the study of heart disease .
