The Maclaughlin River is a river in the southeast of the Australian state of New South Wales .

It rises below the settlement of Steeple Flat northwest of the South East Forest National Park on the western slopes of Brown Mountain . From its source it first flows west through the communities of Maclaughlin , Boco Rock , Boco, and Teapot Hill . Then it continues its course south through the hilly Merriangaah Nature Reserve , a federal nature reserve , and finally flows into the Snowy River .
