Macrotylus solitarius is a species of bug from the family of soft bugs (Miridae). M. mayri ( Reuter , 1904) was published by Pagola-Carte et al. 2004 with this kind synonymised .

features

The bugs are 4.2 to 5.8 millimeters long. The gray-green species of the genus Macrotylus can be recognized by their coarse, dark hairs on the hemielytras and their distinctive patterning of the membrane as well as the fine and inconspicuous spurs on the rails ( tibia ). In Macrotylus solitarius the first antennae is pale green and the wing membrane lacks the dark spot that occurs in Macrotylus horvathi .

Occurrence and habitat

The species occurs in Europe without the north and east to the Caucasus. In Germany the species occurs everywhere, but only locally, especially in the mountains south of the Main . It is not common. In Austria the species occurs wherever the food plants grow.

The habitats are dry and warm to more humid and semi-shady to shady habitats.

Way of life

The bugs are found on upright zest ( Stachys recta ), forest ziest ( Stachys sylvatica ) and swamp ziest ( Stachys palustris ). The adults appear from June to mid-August.
