Madega
The Madega , also the Mageda , was an Abyssinian grain measure . Despite the different division of the larger Ardeb , the measure in Massaua was the same as that of Gonder. The measure was
- in Cairo 1 Madega = 12 ounces
- in Gonder 10 Madegas = 1 Ardeb = 4.4 liters
- in Massaua 24 Madegas = 1 Ardeb = 10.57 liters
- 1 Mageda = 22 1/5 Parisian cubic inches = 4/9 liters
