Madonna and Child (Ansacq)
The sculpture Madonna and Child in the Catholic Church of St-Lucien in Angy , a French commune in the Oise department in the Hauts-de-France region , was created in the third quarter of the 14th century. In 1912 the Gothic sculpture was added to the list of protected objects ( Base Palissy ) in France as Monument historique .
The 1.10 meter high limestone sculpture is colored . Mary holds the baby Jesus on her left arm. His face turns towards the viewer. Mary, with a peasant face and red cheeks, wears a crown on her head. The many folds of her dress give her appearance a fullness.
