The Madrigal Choir of the Munich University of Music and Theater is a choir founded by Max Frey in 1979 . It consists of around 50 singers from the subjects of school music, church music and song. Since 2008 it has been led by Martin Steidler . The madrigal choir takes on training tasks, but also appears "with exemplary interpretations of works from the European choral tradition, but above all with contemporary compositions". He works with Bayerischer Rundfunk and other internationally renowned conductors and ensembles. In 2014 the madrigal choir won first prize in the category mixed choirs with 32 or more participants at the German Choir Competition .
