Magda (* 1975 in Żywiec , Poland; actually Magdalena Chojnacka ) is an internationally active DJ and music producer who is best known for her publications in the field of minimal techno .

Life

Magda was born in Żywiec , Poland , and moved to the United States with her parents in 1986 at the age of eleven. During her time in college she succumbed to the fascination of DJing and began her DJ career in 1996. In 2003, the first productions appeared as part of the group Run Stop Restore , which consists of Magda, Marc Houle and Troy Pierce .

Magda is best known for her productions on Richie Hawtin's label M_nus , on which the mix-compilation She's a Dancing Machine was released in 2006 . The album, which consists of 72 tracks, reached 6th place in the Best Album 2006 category in the Raveline Readers Poll .

She worked for a long time with Richie Hawtin in Berlin. However, in 2011 the “Queen of Minimal” left her long-standing place of work M_nus and turned her back on her mentor Richie Hawtin to found her own label Items & Things together with Marc Houle and Troy Pierce.
