Magdalena Behrendt-Brandt , also Magdalena Behrend-Brandt , born Magdalena Brandt ( 1828 in Vienna - January 25, 1895 in Munich ) was an Austrian opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

After completing her training with Giovanni Gentiluomo , she first performed in Pest, after which she went to Leipzig. In 1850 she made a guest appearance in Frankfurt am Main, where she was hired until 1854, where she married a businessman Behrendt. In June 1850 she made a guest appearance at the Berlin Court Theater and in May 1851 with equally great applause in Munich, whereupon she accepted an engagement in the last city and made her debut there as “Norma”, “ Martha ” and “Donna Anna”. In September she ended her 4-1 / 2-month engagement and made a guest appearance in Prague for three months in 1853, after which she went to Marienbad to relax. She returned to Munich for an engagement, made guest appearances in Frankfurt and Wiesbaden in 1853, in Hamburg in April 1855, in Frankfurt in July 1855 and left the Hofbühne in Munich on June 1, 1856. After that she was only active as a guest, u. a. in Wiesbaden, Prague, Berlin, Hamburg and Frankfurt. She died in her adopted home Munich.

She was particularly valued as a Meyerbeer interpreter.
