Magdalena Sadlon

Magdalena Sadlon (born August 2, 1956 in Zlaté Moravce , Czechoslovakia ) is an actress and writer.

Life

In 1968 her family emigrated to Austria. Magdalena Sadlon studied Slavic Studies at the University of Vienna and trained as an actress at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz .

From 1981 she worked in Linz for the cellar theater , at the Musisches Zentrum, and for independent theater groups. She worked on experimental films at the Vienna Film Academy. She also worked as a translator from Slovak.

Since 1984 she has been working as a writer in Lower Austria , Vienna and Slovakia. She wrote several novels as well as other publications in anthologies and magazines.

In 2007 Sadlon was awarded the Adelbert von Chamisso Prize .
