The house at Magdalenenstrasse 21 is a building in Darmstadt .
History and description
The house at Magdalenenstrasse 21 was built in the early 17th century. Stylistically, the building belongs to the Renaissance . The house comes from the first phase of construction in the old suburb.
The two-story , stucco house has a gable roof . The facade is structured by lattice windows. There are simple cornice decorations in the Renaissance gable . The half-timbered configuration typical of the construction period adorns the southern eaves side of the building. The historical paintings on the window frames on the first floor on the north side of the house are remarkable . The former "entrance hole" in the gable end was subsequently enlarged to become a window. The side gate entrance lacks the brick archway typical of the construction period.
Monument protection
The house at Magdalenenstrasse 21 is a typical example of the renaissance style in Darmstadt. For architectural and city history reasons, the building is considered a cultural monument .
