Magellanic Stream
The Magellanic Current is a high-speed cloud of neutral hydrogen that connects the two dwarf galaxies of the Magellanic Clouds and the Milky Way . Its expansion in the sky is correspondingly large at around 100 ° . Its mass is estimated to be 1.24 × 10 8 solar masses .
Its origins are not yet fully understood. On the one hand, it is assumed that the common bond between the three galaxies is due to gravitational interactions. On the other hand, recent findings suggest that high-speed clouds are remnants of galaxies on their orbit.
A similar phenomenon is the Sagittarius Current .
