Maglan

Maglan ( Hebrew מגלן, in German  Ibis ), also known as Unit 212 or Sayeret Maglan , is an Israeli reconnaissance unit of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), which specializes in operating behind enemy lines and deep in enemy territory with advanced technologies and weapons. The elite unit also specializes in anti-tank defense. The Maglan unit was established in 1986, but its existence was not announced until 2006. The unit's first commander was Lieutenant Colonel Danny Herman. Maglan is part of the Commando Brigade (89th "Oz" Brigade) along with Unit 217 ( Jechidat Duvdevan ) and Unit 621 ( Egoz ). Most of your operations are kept secret.

The unit was named after the ibis bird, which also appears on the unit's lapel pin.

The unit's service weapons are the M4A1 carbine and the Micro-Tavor X95 models . Snipers use the SR-25 Mk 11 which can be used for long ranges and with a silencer.
