Magnús Örn Eyjólfsson Scheving (born November 10, 1964 in Reykjavík ) is an Icelandic actor , athlete , television producer and entrepreneur . He gained international fame through the role of Sportacus ( Icelandic íþróttaálfurinn ) in his television series LazyTown, which he developed .

Life

Magnús Örn Eyjólfsson Scheving started aerobics in 1985 and became Icelandic Individual Champion in 1992 . In total, he won this title four times. In 1993 he was Scandinavian champion, reached 3rd place at the Suzuki World Cup and also came third at the Taejon Expo in Korea . In 1994 he became European champion, won 2nd place at the Suzuki World Cup and the international competition in Seoul . In February 1995 he became European champion for the second time. Magnús Scheving also has over 70 prizes in athletics , mainly for the 1,500 and 5,000 meter runs. Since childhood he has also played basketball , handball , tennis and weight training . He was voted "Sportsman of the Year 1994" in Iceland.

Magnús Scheving gives lectures and leads aerobics courses in his home country, as well as promoting healthy eating and school sports for children. He is a passionate public speaker when it comes to fitness and healthy and active lifestyles for children and adolescents. In 1995 Magnús Scheving wrote a book with the title “GO! GO! Lazy Town! “Which is intended to encourage children and young people to do sports and pay attention to nutrition. The book became a best seller in Iceland, so he wrote four more books, plus a musical based on the book series. In addition, three music CDs, a board game and the television series of the same name for children were produced. LazyTown is now a fixture in every Icelandic household. The series, which was first shown on an Icelandic channel in 2004, ranks fourth overall of all series for preschoolers on US television and in 49 other countries. In 2009 he played the Russian villain Poldark in the family comedy Spy Daddy on the side of Jackie Chan and Billy Ray Cyrus .

Magnús Scheving is married and has three children.
