The magnetic polarization is a physical quantity from the field of electrodynamics of macroscopic media. It characterizes the magnetic flux density within a magnetic material minus the portion of the magnetic field in the vacuum. It is therefore also referred to as the intrinsic magnetic flux density . Your formula symbol is . It is specified in the International System of Units (SI) in the unit Tesla .

definition

The magnetic polarization is defined as the difference between the magnetic flux density  B m with matter and the magnetic flux density B 0 in a vacuum at the same magnetic field strength :

with the magnetic field constant .
