Magnus Franz Siegismund von Wedel (born November 21, 1806 in Woltersdorf , Soldin district , † October 3, 1885 in Stühlingen ) was a German district administrator and politician from the Wedel family .

Von Wedel was the son of Ernst Ewald Leopold von Wedel. The father was master at Denzig, later at Woltersdorf and Colonel, later a brigadier of the gendarmerie . The mother was Caroline Friederike Amalie nee Kerger. He married on October 26, 1832 in Quilow Wilhelmine Amalia von Owstien (born October 22, 1808 in Quilow, † August 12, 1888 in Stühlingen), the daughter of the gentleman on Quilow, Menzlin and Vittense, August Friedrich Philipp Gustav Bernhard von Owstien.

Magnus von Wedel was educated in the cadet corps in Kulm and Berlin and in 1824 became an officer in the 2nd Infantry Regiment. In 1837 he asked to leave and took over the Menzlin estate from his father-in-law. He became a company commander in the Landwehr, where he was a captain and in 1850 a major. He was a member of the district commission for real estate tax regulation, from 1862 to 1863 he was government commissioner for expropriations in the Greifswald district during the construction of the Angermünde-Stralsund railway . In 1864 he leased the Menzlin manor and moved to Potsdam, but returned the following year.

From 1843 to 1863 he was district deputy. In 1865 he was elected by the district councils as the first candidate for the district office in the Greifswald district with 48 out of 58 votes and was appointed district administrator upon release from the district examination. He was district administrator from 1865 to 1880.

In 1850 he was a member of the Volkshaus of the Erfurt Union Parliament . From 1870 to 1872 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives .
