The Mahaffey Glacier is a glacier in the east of Thurston Island off the Eights coast of the west Antarctic Ellsworthland . It flows there to the head of Morgan Inlet .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 2003 after J. S. Mahaffey, who was involved in the creation of aerial photographs of Thurston Island and the neighboring mainland coast as part of Operation Highjump (1946–1947) carried out by the United States Navy .
