Mahmoud Torabinejad

Mahmoud Torabinejad is Professor of Endodontics and Director of the Advanced Specialty Education Program in Endodontics at the Faculty of Dentistry at Loma Linda University .

childhood and education

Torabinejad was born in Kashan . He graduated from Tehran Dental School in 1971 and studied endodontics at the University of Illinois .

Professional career

Torabinejad practices as a dentist and is a researcher at Loma Linda University. He is also involved in the Mahmoud Torabinejad Clinical Research Center in Isfahan .

He developed mineral trioxide aggregate that is used to repair tooth root perforations and forms an artificial barrier when normal root canal filling is not possible.

Torabinejad is the author of many publications in the field of endodontics, including 16 of the 100 most cited publications in the field of endodontics. Torabinejad also wrote a number of books with co-author Richard E. Walton.
