Maik Albrecht
Maik Albrecht (* 1981 in Hettstedt ) is a German martial artist living in China . In 2006 he was the first non-Chinese to win a gold medal at the World Championship for traditional Wushu in the professional class.
Life
Albrecht began to learn karate at the age of ten .
At the end of the 1990s, Albrecht met his current master Li Zhenghua. He followed Li to China and trained among others Baguazhang , Tang Lang Quan and Zuibaxian.
In 2006 Albrecht was the only foreigner in the professional group of the Hubei Province to take part in the IWUF World Championship in traditional Wushu and won gold and silver.
Although it is still relatively unknown in Germany, it has attracted quite a bit of media attention in China. Even the Chinese television reported several times about Albrecht.
Maik Albrecht accompanied Daniela Katzenberger for the program Daniela Katzenberger - Naturally Blond (Vox) 2011 through China as a travel guide.
