Maille is a vinegar and mustard manufacturer in Dijon .

The company was founded in 1747 by Antoine Maille as a vinegar and spirits manufacturer for hygienic applications in Marseille . By the end of the 18th century, Maille was producing vinegar for several ruling houses in Europe and Russia . When the last of the Maille family died in 1930, Baron Philippe de Rothschild bought the company. In 1952 it merged with the mustard manufacturer Gray-Poupon in Dijon. After several changes of ownership (including Danone ), the company has been part of the food multi- Unilever since 2000 .
