Maison de l'Élection in Troyes

The Maison de l'Élection in Troyes , the administrative seat of the Aube department in the Grand Est region , was built after 1524. The half-timbered house at No. 26 Rue de la Monnaie has been classified as a Monument historique since 1933 .

history

The Renaissance- style building was erected after the great fire of 1524. The builder was the cloth maker Michel Drouot, who was mayor of the city from 1536 to 1538.

In 1628 King Louis XIII bought. the house and had the seat of the Élection de Troyes , a lower administrative authority under the Généralité de Châlons , set up. This existed there until 1754.
