The Maiwand is a peak near Flintsbach am Inn . The height is 1135 meters. The rocky elevation is a secondary peak of the Großer Riesenkopf and thus geographically belongs to the Bavarian Prealps , the Mangfall Mountains and the Wendelstein group.
The summit cross on the Maiwand is usually reached from the southwest from the Riesenkopf area or from the southeast via the Maigraben. Both climbs require easy climbing (T5 on the SAC hiking scale , I on the UIAA scale ). A more difficult variant, which directly exceeds the summit porch, but can be bypassed, is rated T6 or III despite rope insurance.
