Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild

The Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild is an American union that represents makeup artists and hairstylists in the fields of films , television series , commercials, and theater productions in the United States. The seat is in Burbank (Los Angeles County) .

The members have been recognized by various honor societies in recent years and have won numerous important prizes, including the Oscar , the Emmy , the Saturn Award and the BAFTA .

The union organizes the so-called Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards every year, in which artists are honored for their achievements. In 2016, the awards were divided into 19 different categories. The union also presents the Lifetime Achievement Awards and, since 2014, the Distinguished Artisan Awards, a special award for actors and filmmakers for creative contributions that Johnny Depp received as the first actor.
