Makoto Iijima
Makoto Iijima ( Japanese 飯 島 誠 , Iijima Makoto ; born February 12, 1971 in Tokyo Prefecture ) is a Japanese cyclist .
Makoto Iijima was sixth overall at the 2003 Tour of South China Sea . Two years later he came second and third and finished ninth in the overall standings. In 2005 he won the individual time trial of the Japanese championship. Several times he won medals at Asian Games and Asian cycling championships and won stages in Asian tours. In 2006, he became the Asian championship points race on the track . In 2009 he won the gold medal in the team time trial at the East Asian Games .
Iijima competed three times - in 2000 , 2004 and 2008 - in the points race at the Olympic Games. In 2000 and 2004 he was ranked 16th and in 2008 eighth.
