Maksym Shtein (born May 7, 1980 in Odessa ) is a former German-Ukrainian basketball player . During his career he played a total of 200 games in the basketball league .

career

He began his sporting career at the age of 15 in his hometown of Odessa. He later played for the German clubs MTV Stuttgart , BG Ludwigsburg and ratiopharm Ulm . In the 2007/08 season, the 2.06 m tall and 106 kg heavy center was under contract with the German Bundesliga club Skyliners Frankfurt . For the 2008/2009 season he moved to the Bundesliga competitor TBB Trier . There he played for two years as a supplementary player in the positions of power forward and center. For the 2010/2011 season he moved to the Eisbären Bremerhaven for a year . In the following season he received a contract with another Bundesliga club, BBC Bayreuth .

In summer 2012 Shtein returned to the Ulm region and joined the Weissenhorn young stars in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB . The trained industrial clerk also took a position at a company in the region. As a leader, he was supposed to help young players get used to the level of the league and to help keep the club in the league. After the 2013/14 season he ended his playing career, but returned to the field in December 2015 to strengthen the ScanPlus Baskets Elchingen in the ProB until the end of the 2015/16 season.
