Maktar (also Makthar, Arabic مكتر) is a small town and market town in the northern Tunisian mountainous region, on the edge of which lies the ancient city of Mactaris , from which its name is derived.
geography
The place is a good 70 km southeast of El Kef on the edge of a 900 m high plateau , which is drained by the Oued Saboun, a tributary of the Medjerda .
