Malayology
The Malaiologie ( "Malays Customer") or Indonesistik is a scientific field , one of the cultural sciences and deals with the philology and cultures of the peoples of the Malay cultural area, which now states Indonesia , Malaysia , Brunei Darussalam and the city-state of Singapore has.
The focus of the department is the research into the language Indonesian and the closely related language Malay . Malayology is a branch of Austronesian Studies , which deals with the Austronesian languages, which are primarily native to the Pacific region, as well as Southeast Asian Studies , which covers the entire geographic area of the region.
