List of people from Indonesian studies

This is a list of people from Indonesian Studies ( Indonesian Studies , Dutch Indonesian Studies ), i.e. people whose work focuses on the scientific field in Indonesia and / or the former Dutch East Indies . In the broader sense, their field of work can be assigned to Indology or Malayology .

In the Netherlands, prices were up shortly after independence with the name "Indian Studies" ( "Indology-opleiding") for the Dutch officials in the colonial Dutch East Indies aligned, the 1825 and 1950 at the universities of Delft , Leiden and Utrecht took place . Due to the prejudiced past of the term Indology, it was abolished in the Netherlands at the University of Leiden , the studies in Leiden are now called South and Southeast Asian Studies.

In Germany, Indonesian studies / Indonesian studies was only taught at the University of Jena , the position was cut after Renate Carstens retired .
