Malan loess
Malan loess or Malan loess ( Chinese 馬蘭 黃土 / 马兰 黄土 , Pinyin Mǎlán huángtǔ , English Loess of Malan / Malan Loess ) is a yellow loess of the late Pleistocene in China . He's after a location near the village Zhaitangchuan in Beijing Municipality Mentougou named.
According to him, the Malan Loess time ( 马兰黄土期 , Mǎlán huángtǔ qī , English Malan loess period ) named, which also includes the lacustrine fluvial-in the deposit layer of the southeast corner of the Ordos plateau contained Salawusu-faunal counts.
Main representatives of Malan loess time are palaeoloxodon namadicus , Equus hemionus , Equus przewalskii , Coelodonta antiquitatis , Camelus knoblochi , Cervus elaphus , Megaloceros (Sinomegaceros) ordosianus , Bubalus wansjocki , Bos primigenius and Crocuta ultima .
Ye Liangfu (1894–1949) examined the Malan loess in his work Beijing Xishan dizhi zhi (“History of the Geology of the Western Mountains of Beijing”), published in 1920 .
