Malcolm Chisholm

Malcolm Chisholm (born March 7, 1949 in Edinburgh ) is a Scottish politician and member of the Labor Party . In the British general election in 1992 , Chisholm won the direct mandate of the constituency of Edinburgh Leith and moved into parliament for the first time. In the 1997 general election, he defended the constituency, which had since been redesigned and renamed Edinburgh North and Leith . In the Scottish general elections in 1999 Chisholm moved as a direct candidate of the Scottish Labor Party for the constituency of Edinburgh North and Leith in the Scottish Parliament . In the subsequent elections in 2003 , 2007 and 2011 , Chisholm successfully defended his mandate.

Life

Chisholm attended George Watson's College and Edinburgh University . He then worked as an English teacher.

Between 2000 and 2001, Chisholm held the post of Secretary of State for Health and Welfare and between 2001 and 2004 the post of Minister of the same resort. In 2004–2006, Chisholm served as Minister for Communities, but resigned in winter 2006.

Malcolm Chisholm is married and has two sons and a daughter.
