Malin Schwerdtfeger

Malin Schwerdtfeger (born December 27, 1972 in Bremen ) is a German writer .

biography

Schwerdtfeger studied Jewish and Islamic Studies in Berlin from 1992 . After making her first literary attempts as a teenager, she began to seriously write narrative prose in the mid-1990s, which was initially published in magazines and anthologies . In 2000 she took part in the Ingeborg Bachmann Competition in Klagenfurt. Both her prose debut, the collection of short stories Leichte Mädchen , and her first novel, Café Saratoga , which tells the story of a Polish family of emigrants from the perspective of two adolescent girls, met with great acclaim from literary criticism and readership. Café Saratoga has also been translated into Polish. The author lives in Berlin.
