The Malpas Reservoir is a reservoir in the northeast of the Australian state of New South Wales . It is one of three man-made lakes in the Macleay River catchment area .
The lake is on the Gara River , 9 km southeast of the city of Guyra , east of the New England Highway . Only the Gara River feeds the reservoir on the southern slopes of the Great Dividing Range .
