Malte Ristau-Winkler

Malte Ristau-Winkler (also Malte Ristau ; * 1952 in Recklinghausen ) is a German social scientist , was a social democratic party official and most recently head of the policy department in the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs under Ursula von der Leyen (CDU).

Ristau-Winkler was managing director of the historical commission of the SPD under the chairmanship of Susanne Miller and worked from 1998 on the party executive committee of the SPD, u. a. in the successful federal election campaign in 1998 . In 2002 he became head of the family, welfare and civic engagement department in the Federal Family Ministry under Renate Schmidt (SPD). There he contributed to the introduction of the parental allowance . In 2010 he moved to the Federal Ministry of Labor as head of department for fundamental questions of the welfare state and the social market economy . In 2014 he left after moving to Andrea Nahles .

He also deals with the writer Karl May .

He is married to Ruth geb. Winkler.
